You Are Not Gonna Believe Who My Companion Is...
This week was a crazy one! It was my first offical week of doing missionary work and we had so many cool miracles that happened!!
Monday February 5th: Good news... My p-days are now on Mondays! Wahooo! I talked with my family and found out Reese won National Championship at this last cheer competition! CONGRATS REESE! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU! Perri and her team also did SO GOOD!! They didn't take first but this should motivate them to practice and work harder so they can take 1st next competition! SO PROUD OF YOU PERRI! love you guysss!!
I found out Montana has this little soda shop called "Soda Station" if you know Utah you know how big Soda shops are there! I got my classic Dr Pepper with Raspberry puree and coconut cream! It tasted so amazing!!
We went to the gym and met up with some of the Elders to play Volleyball! I'm beginning to think that Volleyball and Pickle Ball are big things for missionaries on pdays haha. π
That night I finally found out where I'm going for my first area and who my new companion is!!! I was freaking out so bad my stomach started hurting! My mission President loves to tease and make jokes so we played a little guessing game. For privacy/safety reasons I'm not going to tell you where I'm going but all I can tell you is I'm not staying in the Billings area with those 2 Sisters!! (If you read my last email you will understand what that means) ANYHOW, YOU ARE NOT GONNA BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU WHO MY NEW COMPANION IS...
When I first got my mission call to Billings Montana I had so many of my friends tell me that a girl from our high school is there right now! Well guesssss whatttt! That girl is Sister Stewart! We hung out in high school and she is now my NEW COMPANION! God really knew that I was gonna need someone that I'm familiar with for my first couple of weeks in Montana. We were both so excited!! I found out that tomorrow we have a 6 hour bus ride to get to our area! Wish me luck!
Tuesday February 6th: Sister Stewart and I woke up at 5:00 am to get ready and pack all our bags! We were on the bus for 6 hours... I slept for most of the time so it went by pretty fast! We got to our new apartment and it's actually super nice! This apartment is probably gonna be my new home for the next 3-6 months!! So I better get comfy haha!
Wednesday February 7th: It was my first official day going out and doing missionary work! We had our first lesson with this girl who has been meeting with the missionaries for a little bit now. As I was talking to her about Jesus Christ, she turned to me and said "your eyes sparkle when you talk about this" I about cried!! Isn't that the sweetest compliment ever!? Little did she know it was my first lesson as a missionary and I about threw up walking into her house because I was so nervous lol! That comment alone made me so excited and ready for my mission. Being a missionary is so hard and scary at first because you are away from family and in a whole new area! Some people even learn new languages! Which is absolutely insane! Props to the people learning a language because I don't know if I could do that! *cough cough* Brock!
Thursday February 8th: We went around our new area to check it out! We took some cute pics (I'll put them down below) and found some restaurants we want to try! We went around to meet people and shared messages about Jesus Christ!!
Friday February 9th: We did kind of the same thing as we did the day before. Sadly they don't have a soda shop where I am but they do have a Sonic. My companion and I have been craving drinks from sonic! Their drinks are good but nothing will ever compare to the Utah Soda Shops! It did help my cravings though so I would say it was pretty good!!
Saturday February 10th: This was another day of meeting people and getting to know the area! So there wasn't anything to excited that happened this day.
Sunday February 11th: Sunday's as a missionary are now MY FAVORITE DAYS!! At first I wasn't sure about them... but after our Sunday today, I really love them.
We woke up and went to our new ward! We saw a few people there that we have invited to come and that was exciting. Then we had the coolest miracle happen... we were walking to go to our sunday school class, when Sister Stewart just randomly stopped in the middle of the hall. She had a feeling to stop but she wasn't sure why. Then 2 seconds later a guy comes up to us introducing us to another guy who came to our church. He told us he has been looking around for a religion to join. He saw our church and tried looking up the time that our service started, but he couldn't find any information about it. So he decided to show up at 11. He ended up missing our service but we invited him to go into Sunday School with all of the other Elders and he agreed!! An hour later we went back to go check up on him and see what he thought. He told us that the he has never felt the spirit so strong and he wants to come back! WHAAAA... Both Sister Stewart and I were so shocked! We were so happy and excited for him. We got his number so we could teach him more about our church and then on his way out of the door he said "I'll see you guys next Sunday!!" It was an absolute miracle!!!
This experience right here is why I went on a mission. Seeing people feel peace and joy in their lives make me so happy because in today's world we could all use that. I am so grateful for all of the miracles I have experienced this first week on my mission. Seeing the light of Jesus Christ in other peoples life is such a beautiful thing. I can't wait to see what miracles happen this next week!
Here is a scripture verse I found about miracles
Mormon 9:11
"But behold, I will show unto you a God of miracles, even the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and it is that same God who created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are."
See you guys next week!! Love you all π«ΆπΌ
